Background: Dementia is a clinical condition characterized by decreased cognitive function such as memory, thinking ability, orientation, understanding, learning ability, and language. Objrctive: This study aims to obtain an overview of nursing care to fulfill learning needs in elderly with dementia with cognitive decline problems using Puzzle Therapy. Research Method: Using a case study method with Puzzle Therapy intervention carried out for 5 days with a duration of 20 minutes. data collection through interviews, observations, and MMSE Instruments. Research result: Shows that the elderly who do Puzzle Therapy experience an increase in cognitive function in the elderly with dementia. In the MMSE assessment in patient 1, the first day score was 18 (mild mental function aspect damage) to 28 (good cognitive aspect of mental function), while in patient II the first day score was 20 (mild mental function aspect damage) to 27 (good cognitive aspect of mental function). Conclusion: Puzzle Therapy has been proven effective as a non-pharmacological therapy that can be performed on the elderly who experience cognitive decline. Puzzle therapy can stimulate brain activity related to memory and concentration. Suggestion: It is hoped that puzzle therapy can be applied routinely in elderly care environments as a non-pharmacological nursing intervention to improve cognitive function in the elderly.
