Non-pharmacological management using aloe vera gel compresses is believed to help reduce pain due to its active compounds with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. This study aimed to determine the effect of aloe vera gel compresses on breast engorgement pain in postpartum mothers at Sumber Waras Hospital in 2025. The study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 10 postpartum mothers selected through purposive sampling. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and data were analyzed using a dependent t-test. The results showed a decrease in the mean pain score after the application of aloe vera gel compresses: from 4 to 3 on the first day, from 3 to 2.10 on the second day, and from 2.20 to 1 on the third day. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value < 0.05 on all treatment days, indicating a significant effect of aloe vera gel compresses in reducing breast engorgement pain. In conclusion, aloe vera gel compresses are effective in reducing breast engorgement pain in postpartum mothers. This intervention can be applied as a safe, inexpensive, and practical non-pharmacological therapy to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding
Irivin Lesli Yunita Obehetan Copyright (c) 2026 Irivin Lesli Yunita Obehetan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-03-21 2026-03-21 8 1 10.63704/jksw.v8i1.109 Analysis of Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Services at Eka Hospital Cibubur Outpatient Unit: A SERVQUAL Method https://jurnal.stikessumberwaras.ac.id/index.php/kesehatan/article/view/118
Patient satisfaction is one of the key indicators for assessing the quality of hospital services and influences its competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the gap between patient expectations and reality regarding nursing services at the Eka Hospital Cibubur Polyclinic. This study is quantitative and uses the SERVQUAL (service quality) method to measure patient satisfaction based on five dimensions: Tangible, Responsiveness, Reliability, Assurance, and Empathy. The study sample used an accidental sampling technique obtained by 89 respondents participating by completing an online questionnaire. The results showed that the average patient expectation value was 4.52, while the average reality value was 4.39, resulting in a SERVQUAL gap of (-0.13). Based on the results, improvements are still needed related to services to increase patient satisfaction. However, the level of conformity between expectations and reality reached 97%, which indicates that overall, the service is in accordance with patient expectations.
Elsya Fernita Rosanti Arif Sujadi Erika Fitria Copyright (c) 2026 Elsya Fernita Rosanti, Arif Sujadi; Erika Fitria https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-03-21 2026-03-21 8 1 10.63704/jksw.v8i1.118 Effect of Pursed Lips Breathing Exercise on Respiration Rate in Children with Bronchopneumonia at Sumber Sanas Hospital https://jurnal.stikessumberwaras.ac.id/index.php/kesehatan/article/view/105
Bronchopneumonia, also referred to as lobular pneumonia, is an inflammatory condition of the lung parenchyma that may extend to the bronchioles and alveoli. Its etiology includes bacteria, viruses, fungi, and foreign bodies. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be applied is pursed lips breathing (PLB), which is beneficial for improving ventilation, releasing trapped air, slowing the respiratory rate, and promoting relaxation in children. This study aimed to examine the effect of PLB exercise on the respiratory rate of children with bronchopneumonia at Sumber Waras Hospital in 2025. A quantitative method was employed with a quasi- experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The study sample consisted of 10 children with bronchopneumonia, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed with a dependent t-test to compare respiratory rate values before and after the intervention. The findings revealed a reduction in the average respiratory rate following PLB exercise. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference in respiratory rate between pre- and post-intervention (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Pursed lips breathing exercise is effective in lowering respiratory rate among children with bronchopneumonia. This intervention can be recommended as a supportive non-pharmacological therapy in pediatric nursing care for respiratory problems.
Dwi Salsa Hamidah Copyright (c) 2026 Dwi Salsa Hamidah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2026-03-21 2026-03-21 8 1 10.63704/jksw.v8i1.105 Penerapan Discharge Planning Menggunakan Audiovisual Dalam Pencegahan Infeksi Pascaoperasi Katarak Di Rumah Sakit X https://jurnal.stikessumberwaras.ac.id/index.php/kesehatan/article/view/112
ABSTRACT

Background: Post-cataract surgery infection is a complication that can hinder the healing process and reduce the quality of patient's vision.
