Abstract

Background: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) have become an innovation in health information systems aimed at increasing efficiency and effectiveness in hospital services, particularly in outpatient care. The implementation of EMR is expected to reduce patient waiting times, improve the accuracy of medical records, and accelerate the clinical decision-making process by medical personnel.

Objective: This study aims to analyze the impact of EMR implementation on the effectiveness of outpatient services in hospitals, focusing on service speed, diagnostic accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

Method: This study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to patients and medical personnel, as well as an analysis of waiting times before and after EMR implementation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistical tests.

Results: The findings indicate that EMR implementation significantly improves the effectiveness of outpatient services. Patient waiting times decreased by 30%, diagnostic accuracy improved due to a reduction in medical record errors, and patient satisfaction showed a significant increase.

Conclusion: The implementation of EMR has a positive impact on the effectiveness of outpatient services in hospitals. Therefore, the continuous development and optimization of the EMR system are necessary to further enhance the overall quality of healthcare services.
