Studi Penerapan Rendam Kaki Air Hangat untuk Menurunkan Insomnia pada Lansia

Abstract
Background: Elderly is an advanced stage of a life process and what is often called elderly is aged more than 60 years. Insomnia is a symptom of a sleep disorder in the form of difficulty falling asleep or tending to maintain sleep even though there is an opportunity to do so (Syadiyah, 2018). The West Jakarta area has the highest incidence of insomnia in the elderly at 30%, (KemenkesRI, 2018). Soaking the feet in water with a temperature of 37-40°C aims to increase muscle relaxation, increase blood circulation, relieve stress, reduce edema, increase capillary permeability and can nourish the heart.Objective : To determine the effect of warm water foot soak therapy on reducing insomnia in the elderly. Method: The design used in this study is a case study with a descriptive method. Research Results: Research shows that there is an effect of warm water foot soaks on insomnia in the elderly. Client 1 from moderate insomnia to no insomnia while client 2 from moderate insomnia to mild insomnia. Conclusion: This study shows that warm water foot soak therapy is proven to be effective in reducing insomnia in the elderly.
